Michael Jackson was an American singer. He was initially part of the Jackson Five, a group comprised of him and his brothers before he began a successful solo career.
Aside from his sister Janet Jackson, no other member of the family would achieve his celebrity status. He was particularly close to her and his mother, who was a devout Jehovah's Witness. Jackson and his sisters Janet and La Toya would become the most religious of the nine Jackson children.
He died on June 25, 2009.
